BENNINGTON, VT — The Bank of Bennington Foundation focuses its giving on financial literacy and education, community and economic development, health and human services, and cultural enrichment.
The Foundation is pleased to announce a $50,000 donation to Sunrise Family Resource Center in Bennington, Vermont, supporting the renovation and expansion of the organization’s newly acquired property, the historic Manes House at 127 Union Street.
Sunrise Family Resource Center has been serving Bennington County families since 1969, evolving from a childcare agency into a comprehensive resource center offering a wide range of services, including home visiting, early childhood programs, parent education, support groups, and community development initiatives. As the region’s Parent Child Center, Sunrise provides these services free of charge to families, with a mission centered on “Strengthening Families.”
The Manes House expansion project represents a critical step forward for the organization. With existing facilities at capacity, the additional space will allow Sunrise to expand its on-site programming, improve accessibility, and introduce new services based on community needs, including offerings such as birthing classes, which are currently unavailable locally. The renovation will also enable the organization to host more drop-in programming, support groups, and parent-led activities, while enhancing the overall quality and reach of its services.
