establishment in 1917, with the sole purpose of solving the
problem of insufficient housing for the Bennington
industrial workers. This continuing commitment to the
community is not just a part of our history, but a living
testament to our culture. Over the years, the bank has not
only grown in size but also in reputation as a local
business that gives back to its community. The bank
generously contributes time and money to volunteer groups
and community organizations in and around Bennington and
Rutland County. In 2024, The Bank of Bennington
donated $355,000 to area non-profits and volunteered nearly
2000 hours to local organizations such as Habitat for
Humanity, Helping Hands, Warm the Children, the Manchester
and Bennington Libraries, VNA and Hospice of Southwestern
Region, numerous churches, clubs and local schools, along
with youth activities. This financial support has
strengthened our communities by supporting those in need,
children, arts, and educational opportunities.
